I love irises...this is magnificent! I have never worked with gesso on watercolour paper. It appears to better define the texture without losing translucency. Is this your experience or do my old-Er eyes deceive me?

Hi Laurel, Thank you for your kind comment. I don’t know when you posted, but in answer to your comment about gesso covered paper, your eyes did not deceive you. The colors stay more on top of the paper as opposed to soak into the paper, therefore the colors may appear brighter. Depending on how the gesso is applied, you can also created additional texture in your paintings. It is fun to play with.
